Frequently Asked Questions

What are your specialties?

I specialize in women’s mental health, particularly as this relates to: trauma, self-injury, eating disorders, substance abuse, suicidal ideation, and borderline personality disorder. In working together, I believe that I can support you in developing a life worth living, even in times of darkness.

What ages do you serve?

While I am able to see individuals of all ages, I primarily serve teens (ages 13+) and young adults (18-30).

How much does therapy cost?

At this time, I am in network with United Behavioral Health (Optum/UBH) and Cigna Behavioral Health. If you are going through insurance, the cost of therapy would depend on your insurance plan (deductibles, co-pays, etc.). Please feel free to speak with me directly to verify this information.

I am in the process of becoming paneled with additional insurance companies at this time. Please reach out to me or check back for updates regarding this process.

I do accept self-pay clients (uninsured, individuals who do not want to go through insurance, and/or individuals who wish to use out-of-network (OON) benefits). Individual counseling is currently being billed at $125.00/hour.
Initial consultation for individual counseling is billed at $145.00/hour.

All groups are $40 per week at this time (1-hour groups). Please reach out regarding eligibility/availability of group sessions.

Do you offer consultations?

I do offer 10- 15-minute phone/video consultations free of charge for potential clients to assess fit in the therapeutic relationship and if I am able to help with the issues you are seeking counseling for.

How long does therapy last?

Therapy should not last forever! However, there is no set answer to this question and there is no number of sessions guaranteed for someone to “feel better.” Some individuals benefit from short-term counseling (a few sessions to three months), while others may continue in individual therapy for 6+ months. The duration of therapy is very dependent on what you are working to address and your progress toward reaching your goals.

My approach to length of treatment as a therapist stems from ongoing discussion to determine your goals in seeking counseling, including regular “check ins” as to your progress in meeting your treatment goals.

What locations do you serve?

Due to all services being provided via telehealth at this time, I am able to see individuals anywhere within the state of New Jersey.

Do you have a physical office?

I am in the process of being able to see clients for in-person services beginning August 2022. Please contact me directly for updates!

I will continue to offer virtual services as an option, as long as they continue to be permitted by clinical licensing laws and insurance coverages.

Do you take insurance?

I am currently in network with Optum/United Healthcare and Cigna.

If you wish to seek services out of network (OON) or self-pay for services, please reach out to discuss payment and whether accessing OON benefits could be an option for you.

How do out of network (OON) benefits work?

Some insurance plans include Out-of-Network (OON) benefits, which operate similarly to rebates at a store. While you would pay full price upfront, this can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. With insurance, the receipt submitted to the company for reimbursement is referred to as an “insurance superbill.” If your plan includes these benefits, you would pay for sessions upfront and I will provide you with a superbill at the end of each month to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Reimbursement from insurance providers covers a percentage of your out-of-pocket cost, which is determined by the coverage offered by your insurance plan. Please contact your insurance company directly for information regarding Out-of-Network services and reimbursement options.

It will be your responsibility to submit claims and monitor reimbursement status, as the check will be mailed directly to you.
